Hello From Pisgah Forest NC

Hi All
I am a 60 year old male who is almost completely disabled, but have tried to go as long as possible. I'm just exploring hoping to find some simple basic information to get as good a quality with what I have and is available in this area. Nothing too fancy.

I live in a small mountain county where the same man owns the phone, Internet, and cable service with the cable being the worst. Still have old analog cable boxes and satellite depends on finding the right clear view. Have all kinds of 100 year old trees in my yard as well as on other peoples property.

I build my own computers when I am able to work on them. I have a 32 inch Phillips CRT HD ready TV and a 27 inch Olevia 327V LCD monitor for bedroom as have spent a lot of time there due to health I decided to upgrade from my old 18 year old 19 inch Magnavox. So you can see I am not really trying to setup a 1st class system, just a good watchable system.

Mack

Hi Mack and welcome to the Shack!

You definitely don't have to go fancy and all out to have a good system... a lot of us have already proven it time over again.

Welcome! If you are looking for something decent that won't cost too much you should take a look at Paradigm. They are what I consider a great bargain. They have several lines ranging from fairly inexpensive up to moderately expensive.

Re: Hello From Pisgah Forest NC

Hi Mack,

I'm in your age group and have recently finished building my first dedicated theatre..
You're never too old as they say..

I started out with very modest gear (some of which I still have and use) and over the years, slowly replaced them with later equipment..

The problem with HT is once you start to get into it, it never ends..

There are plenty of very helpful people here ,who can help you setup any type of system you require..and welcome to the Shack..
