Howdy from Bothell, WA!!

Steve here, aka 'AudioBoy'

So glad I found this place, hello everybody. I too, promise to learn all of your 8,000 names (wink wink).

Found this site after seraching for BFD stuff. And I thought I'd had an original idea....good greif, BFD users all over the place!

Just purchased an 1124P to replace a non functioning 1100. The kid behind the counter at Guitar Center gave me a very funny look when I told him what I was doing with it, and that there were thousands across the country doing the same thing. Either that, or I had hat hair again....

Haven't got my 1124P to talk to REW yet, not sure what I'm doing wrong. I know, read the fourms, the answer is in there somewhere...

Hello Steve and welcome to the Shack!

Yep... BFD followers here since 2000-2001.

Firmware version is most likely the suspect with your MIDI.

Hi Steve,

First, welcome to the Shack. It's a pretty cool place for all kinds of HT and audio stuff.

Sonnie is probably right about the MIDI thing. I think you can determine the firmware revision by powering up the unit while holding down the "Filter Select" button. If it's 1.3, then you have a problem. You can upgrade to 1.4, and all the gory details are here, I believe.

I have also incorrectly connected the "in" cable to the "in" jack on the BFD, where they should actually be connected the other way (at least for my application). It's a poor labeling system, as connecting "in" to "in" makes sense, as does connecting "in" to "out".

Good luck and let us know if we can help!

Sonny/Otto

Yep, my 1124P has a version 1.3. The 1124 only sees jibberish when I try to send the EQ filters to it from REW.

REW did a fabulous job btw, and I simply wrote down the sugessted filter settings, and manualy transfered them into the 1124P.

Wow! Can you say smoooooth subwoofer now! And loud, and deep. You can hear every bass note up and down the scale, no holes! Very happy.
