Hello,
Welcome to HTS. If you could perhaps elaborate on your goals pertaining to your sonic goals, it would help us greatly. Perhaps auditioning some Electrostatic and Planar Speakers might suit you needs as might a well Designed conventional Speaker.
Cheers,
JJ

Re: creating a perfeckt transient sound

Hi.

Transient response is a funny thing. It seems audio people are always talking about it, yet what IS it?

If you ask me, Transient response is A.K.A. time domain response.

Now from around 500hz on up, most loudspeaker drivers already have great time domain behaviour. The best indicators of time domain behaviour are step response or acoustic phase and spectral decay. Metal Drivers tend to exhibit very low distortion and thus their time domain response is particularily clean, however their breakups are a nightmare to deal with and require a well designed crossover.

From around 500hz down, we're in "room" response mode. How a loudspeaker couples to a room has a big effect on our subjective perception of its so-called speed. The decay here is thus mostly in the room behaviour, rather than the

In my opinion, if you want a loudspeaker which couples very well to rooms, it should make a transition from Cardiod to dipole polar radiation patterns, and otherwise be a good speaker.

The Nao Note with U Frame woofer, thus, is probably your best bet:

If you wish to go the monopole speaker route, room design is very key. You need to absorb huge frequencies, diffuse high frequencies, etc. I think Dipoles effectively minimize the room's effect on the sound we hear, so it will not only sound quote-unquote quicker but also more natural.

Now Electrostat type speakers do exhibit dipole radiation too, but the problem with them is their directivity / sweet spot, which is a tad bit messy. Dynamic dipoles in my opinion are the way to go.

Re: creating a perfeckt transient sound

My thoughts are that transient response is a key component to great sound quality so yes, it is possible and ready to be explored thru proper setup and design. So many wise people here so you found the best place on the net! Welcome and enjoy
