Hello from Alamogordo, New Mexico!

I'm a 57 yr old white male originally from New England, now living in the Desert of New Mexico. I've been an Audiophile for many years all stemming from playing Guitar in a rock group during high school. Since then I've been active mostly in Stereo Reproduction of music, with the occassional building of DIY loudspeakers of Bass-Reflex design. Recently, I began my new journey into Home Theater Surround Sound Systems with decent success, on a fixed income. I run into a few problems now and then like most newcomers, and although the solutions are somewhat too expensive for my current budget, I usually find I can make most things practical without the high dollar expense emptying my wallet.
I find a lot of great used equipment, in good working order at the local Pawn shop, haven't got a lemon yet!

Hey jim welcome to the shack. You'll find many knowledgeable people here, and it's a nice place to hang.

I have many fond memories of your area. Every time I see a Taco Bell I think of Alamogordo because it was there I ate at my first TB. I was stationed at Holloman AFB 1969-70 and I vividly remember tooling down Hwy 54 with the Blind Faith 8-track blastin'.

Those were the days.

Yes I was here later around 96 & 97, I worked out at Oliver Lee Memorial State Park off 54 in Dog Canyon, been all over the State with NMSP, I'm retired/disabled now cam back here to live out my yrs.

Hey, I go down there all the time on tests at WSMR, Holloman, and other hot vacation spots

You should come up to Albuquerque some time and watch a movie in NHT Xd surround sound
