| "Seriously, honey, we need 12 of these to feel ANY bass..." Hi all, John here from Hobart, Tasmania. I'm a long-time home theatre fan (I bought the Denon AVP-A1 when they first came out, and the first ever Sony HD plasma... silly me!). Our next project is a huge one, which is why you'll be seeing much more of me over the next few months/years. http://www.wychwood.net.au On the "Floorplans" page you'll be able to see where the HT room will go, complete with IB sub system and 100" cinemascope screen. I may be calling on your help a bit, as sourcing materials for this type of setup can be tough here in Australia. Thanks for having me guys, and I look forward to your advice! Cheers, John | |||

| Re: "Seriously, honey, we need 12 of these to feel ANY bass..." Thanks all for the kind welcome. Prof, I was actually hoping (when the time comes next year to actually buy the projector) that there'll be a few options of projectors with built-in CIH features. We have an anamorphic lens available here in Australia (the "aussiemorphic lens") but I'd like to avoid bolt-on bits and pieces, if possible. I'll certainly keep you all updated as the house progresses... | |||

| | Re: "Seriously, honey, we need 12 of these to feel ANY bass..." John, There are many makes and models of projectors available that can do the required vertical stretch for CIH projection, but none have a built in Anamorphic lens and quite likely won't have in the foreseeable future.. I have one of the CAVX Aussiemorphic lenses fitted to my projector, and it does an excellent job.. Alan, The aspect ratio of the Aussiemorphic lens is 2.37:1 | |||
