Thank you for having this forum -- I am looking forward to good counsel as I build out my home theater in my basement.

My room is 24 x 13 and my plan was to build out the room with some good acoustic sound barriers as the kitchen is right above (any ideas -- thinking two layers of drywall or a layer of sound board), then put in a big screen (110 inch diagonal?), get Sonance inwall Ultra cinema 7.1(I have 4 kids to out of the way stuff is a very good idea) and get a JVC RS1 for video. Any thoughts?

I plan to explore all of the forums as I begin the construction in two-four weeks.

Hey Steve and welcome to Shack.

Have you considered using "Green Glue" between your layers of drywall. I understand it's great stuff for soundproofing. I'll be using some myself shortly, but I don't have any first-hand results yet.
