Ilkka, we're very happy with your tests. I wish the caraudio realm had more methodical reviews like the ones you did for the home and DIY subs.

Dreamer.

DIYMA is about as close as you'll get on that one, but the number of products tested have really dropped off. Maybe we should raise a few (several) thousand dollars and purchase a Klippel for Ilkka?

Kidding, obviously.

I think they are around 30k now... great tool, but unrealistic for a tester/reviewer.
There are some other interesting tools such at Smaart live that seem to do a lot for a fraction of the price.

Hi Kyle, how's the "transition" going at the "company? NIce to have an LMS expert here for real answers to our thousands of questions.
Illka's comparative tests are neat eh?
I miss the TC Sounds forum.
Hey, I was doing a 10-19Hz sweep with the 18" LMS the other day and noticed my 3x6 ft Marvin window glass was sagging and waving along with the sound pressure. Did you ever get any reports of broken glass with this unit?
How many 18" LMS units have been sold?

transitions are difficult, but necessary. Many of the larger companies were going up against have been doing this for dozens of years. Think of TC to AP like Still Water Designs to Kicker or JM Lab to Focal. We're barely 6 months into it and its odd for us to go into a market that actually does not really know who we are yet we have been there for many years already designing and mfr'ing some of the leading high end products through our previous car audio customers of course.

Ilkka does an awesome job with his test. I'm excited to see Steve's PB13 Ultra driver against the mightily JL Dub 7.

Yes, i miss the forum too, but you have to admit, it would have been chaos on there through this transition. We may bring it back, we may not. We're in a different roll now, and it hinges on that.

Your glass windows simply resonate at that frequency, its really noting to be said about the driver or SPL, but if you break your windows, be sure to get it on you tube!

Yes, one customer broke his car windshield twice with a pair of lms 18's. It's on you tube (hint hint) Again he was only reaching around 150dB, and while that is incredibly loud, the windshield broke because of natural resonance (somewhere around 35Hz)

As far as sold LMS's, I don't keep track, but I hope we can sell a whole lot more. and we are in the process of designing a more affordable 12" and 15" with a new motor. This dates back to our original neo idea, but that is now out the door because the cost of neo went up by a factor or 4 since then.
