| Hello from Tampa! I love to tinker! It started with an Eico amplifier kit back in the mid '60s and now I'm a repair technician at a sound and lighting production company. I decided that I had to build a home theater after a short stint as an installer for a local audio visual company. I love movies and being able to watch them uninterupted in your home is where it's at. I've built, bought, and repaired a bunch of equipment over the years and this is my present (always changing) HT set-up: Sony 1272 crt projo (I have 3 more of these for backup parts) Da-lite 100" motorized screen Nec scan converter B&K 5.1 Processor BGW amps Middle atlantic rack JBL speaker system (old school with horns - like in a commercial theater) Dvd, vcr, cable (no Fios yet) for sources. And a table full of remotes ( I have a Pronto 2000 but I have trouble seeing the stupid, blue, dimly lit thing) My latest tinkering is a dedicated PC for testing my sound system using the REW software. I think this is going to be fun! I know I am going to have alot of questions and I hope I can answer some too. Peace, Dave | |||

| | Re: Hello from Tampa! Welcome to the Shack Tinker Dave! I'm a former electronics repair technician myself. Its been awhile since those days of rummaging through stacks of Sams manuals. Those were fun times! In the end I think I was better suited doing installs and teaching the new owners of a Home Theater system how it all works. My Universal Remote class was one I gave countless times, I beleive I have a decent tequnique to bring the layperson up to speed. Wayde | |||
