Hello from British Columbia - finishing Media Room

I built a Media room last year, finishing Phase I for Christmas last year. I'm on the way to finish Phase II, for this Christmas. This is a heavily sound proofed room - actually a lead lined, room within a room, double doors, double walls etc. The accoustics have turned out very well. Panasonic PT-AE1000 1080P projector, Pioneer 94-TXH Receiver, 7.1 Surround, 8'6" screen (Painted), PS2, Xbox 360 (whatever the lastest one is - it is my son's), HD and BluRay.

On the other side of the front wall, facing into the Bar area, is a 54" DLP television, and 7.1 Surround. When I'm done, you will be able to play either the 360 or the PS3 in either room, as well as watch the same thing or something different in the two rooms.

Interests to finish the project is working out a HTPC, tying in the Media Center PC's, and working on remote control software to run the whole thing.

Researching and bulding this project has been a lot of fun, and a real learning experince. We are starting to look at finalizing the decorating, building another light box or two, and oh yes, need to get the lighting done!

I don't have finished pictures yet, but like most of my projects, they become useable before they are done! I have some construction pictures - I'll take a look at see if there is a place to put them on the site. I spend a good deal of time on the road - but think I have some pictures with me that I could give people an idea with. I know that I certainly enjoyed seeing other people's ideas.
