| Hello from South Florida I am so pleased to have found this forum. I began experimenting with integrating a/v over twenty years ago. The technology of today is wonderful, and my systems continue to evolve. My next step will be a front projection system. I've been reading Curt Palme's newsletter, and scouring the Internet for information. | ||||

| Re: Hello from South Florida Welcome to the Shack Rex! Just tell them all about it! I don't recall ever seeing a button or something like that, which would email your friends for you. But that sounds like a good idea! mech | ||||

| Re: Hello from South Florida Hello Rex and welcome to the Shack! We don't have an invite feature so to speak, but you can go to My Profile under the UserCP Menu and under the Forum Info section you will see a Referral ID link to invite friends. It will look like the following link where "x" equals your user ID number. Code: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=x | ||||

| Re: Hello from South Florida Rex, I agree. This is a great site and has quickly become my favorite site. I found it while doing a search for projections screens and ended up reading a great article on DYI laminates. Hope you enjoy it as much as me. | ||||

| Re: Hello from South Florida Hi Rex, Welcome. I think there are a bunch of us around here who have been experimenting with the whole AV thing for many, many years. You're in good company I think I first tried hooking up my Soundesign (all in one stereo/8 track/turntable) to a 13" B&W RCA about 30 some years ago ![]() Mark | ||||

Amazingly, I still have the Harman-Kardon model 930 receiver that was my first stereo purchase. I was an undergrad living in Tampa, so that would have been 1971 or 1972. (Can that really be 35 year ago?) My first step was hooking up a second pair of speakers to have the out of phase information -- based upon an article in Stereo Review. My "front" speakers were a pair of KLH Model 7, and some small AR "rear" speakers. I had a Sony 19" trinitron (also the first television I bought) and some sort of VCR. The audio of the VCR went into the aux inputs of the Harman-Kardon. I also had a device from AR that allowed me to have a remote control for the Harman-Kardon. I thought it was wonderful, and my wife HATED it - because it was not simple. For almost starving undergraduate students, it was high-tech!
