Hello from Pearland, Texas

Sorry for not posting sooner - I'm a member of several Mustang forums and just joined a few AV forums. Too much info. in too many places to digest it all...This site seems to have one of the better organized groups of information. I'm in the process of rebuilding my home theater room - not happy with how the builder set it up. All of my components are entry level for now; still trying to get it set up right, then will work on talking my wife into why I need to start upgrading. It may cost me a trip or two to Cabo, but she'll come around.

T.

Welcome! I'm in Copperfield myself. Quite a few Houstonians here.

Entry level equipment is fun too. Take your time and enjoy the process. I tend to build something new and disappear from the forum for a couple of months while I play with my new toy.

Hey Jim - and everyone else,

Thanks for the welcome's. Cypress is a real nice area.

I'm rebuilding my Home Theater right now and realizing how many things I should have done in the beginning...The more I read, the worse I feel. It's starting to come together, though. I'll order my materials for my new screen today, finish the base trim and media cabinet, run more speaker wire, then get ready for paint...no biggie.

Hey Mark,

I have thought about building my own set of surrounds and a sub...but I'm building impaired. I'm still trying to learn how to work with wood - I'll spend more time with it after I get my room completed. Should be compelety done by next week.

How did you find this site?

Tony

Hey Tony,

I was just doing a little background research before starting a subwoofer project when I stumbled across HTS. There's a huge amount of information here. If you're interested in building surrounds and a sub, I'd be happy to help on the woodworking end. In fact, I just posted a new thread in the Soundsplinter forum about starting up a Houston DIY Speaker / HT Group. We'll see how much interest there is. I've asked Sonnie to suggest how we could best spread the message to all the forums, not just those in Soundsplinter (seems to have a lot of Houston traffic).

Anyway, let me know if starting on your own is something you'd like to consider in the near future.

Mark
