Hi!

My nickname is Paints here in 3D world so I just use that for my screename everywhere I go as well. Built my 1st house 3 years ago and started my current job at about the same time. I dispatch concrete trucks and we use projectors to track all our loads. Little did I know that my job would start this insane quest of mine (called home theater fever). Anyway....I thought it was cool how big a picture the projectors made and wondered if I could find a pj to watch sports on. Little did I know that there is about a million AV enthusiasts running around doing the same thing.

Long story short. Finished house and it's taken me up this point to finish off (my portion of the house) the basement. This whole time building and saving up all I've done is look at projectors, screens, stereos, etc...etc...etc. My wife calls this an obsession. Now I'm at the point where I get to start buying the heart of my sports room. THE PROJECTOR!

But guess what? Three years of looking at specs (and I first started looking when the Panny AE900 and Sanyo Z4 just came out) and I'm still on the fence at which projector to get. Hang on DLP guys!!!! I am challenged in my basement with this nasty beam that limits placement (unless I want my screen an inch off the carpet). Soooooo.....I'm kinda stuck with LCD tech unless I want to chance angling and keystoning a DLP which I know a few have done with great results.

Lastly what brought me here after looking around for so long on the Big screens Forum and
AVS was your DYI screen section (Hello Mech,Tiddler and Wbasset). I never knew the Shack was here until I saw a link with those guys name splashed all over them.

SIGH!!! Another great site to obsess on now.
