Hello, all, from a JBL only will do guy

Its always good to find another HT forum to discuss our passion of HT.
As you could guess, from the title, I'm running all JBL room(s), three total. Been running the higher end JBLs for 30 years.
I've setup in main HT in the manor described in the Harman International White Papers and find that it works very well.
Oh ya, you can never have too much power, in ones HT setup. Better to have extra than not enough.

But I'm still w/o a BR or HDDVD, I figured I'd wait until one or the other format got dumped, and it looks like its happened. I more than slightly remember the format war between Beta and VHS, and got bit.

Hi John, I agree with you that it is still too soon to get an HD DVD yet, even though Blu-Ray won. Have fun, and, welcome. Dennis

Hello John, and welcome.

Have you ever heard/used the JBL Synthesis HT1 series speakers (HT1F, HT1D)? If so, any thoughts on powering, placement, etc.?

I just aquired a set of these and was starting to place them in the theater room to do some complete-system A/B listening against my current Pinnacle system (glad I ran two sets of speaker wire to each location).

I guess both sets are a little old, but so am I.

I know of the HT1s but don't have any experience with them. From what I've read, they can kick out the high SPL.

Hey John, Welcome to the Shack. Looks like you may as well set your sights on a Blu ray player and wait for the right deal to come along.

Thanks, and its 35 years and counting. And I'm still using those 35 year old JBLs(L55s being used as secondary subs)
