This was the reciver of my dreams I had been wanting it for the past year. When I saw It on Amazon for a price I could afford I clicked on the buy now button right away, little did I know that my dream was going to be crushed. I recieved an e-mail for the seller saying that he didn't
br /want to sell it at the price it was listed because it was worth more and he issued me a credit. So I was really felling down at this time so I stayed away from my computer for a day. When did get back on line to my surprise there was a E-mail frome the seller saying that it was back on sale for the orignal price when I first saw it, plus he was throwing in a free HDMI cable. Well by the time I signed on to Amazon I recieved another E-mail saying that it was sold already and for a moment I thought I was on E-bay not Amazon. This rating is for the seller not the product. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THIS PURCHASE. I HAVE IT HOOKED UP TO MY Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR6 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Sony BDP-S350 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player, JBL CS6100BG Complete 6-Piece Home Theater Speaker System, AND XBOX. THE EXPERIENCE IS JUST AMAZING. PLENTY OF INPUTS THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO KEEP UP WITH THE TECHNOLOGY. IT IS ABLE TO PASS THROUGH AUDIO AND VIDEO WITH NO DISTORTION WHATSOEVER. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!

I have one of the same in another apartment that I owe outside NY. That is the reason I want to have the same here in NY. The Model is great the price for that model could not be better.

After several weeks of research I finally decided on this Pioneer unit. I was not dissappointed. The first time I played a blue-ray music disk it blew me away! I only wish when running a 7.1 system there was an A-B switch that would allow me to run my patio speakers without having to bi-amp. That aside, great system, and for the price, an even better value.

Believe it or not, I'm Finally going surround sound!! I just bought the speakers ... Energy Take Classic 5.1 [...] at Circuit City (leaving only 3 remaining at the store) (priced everywhere else at $400). Now for the receiver..This Pioneer VSX-1018 (or the coming soon VSX-1019) sounds like the right choice for me, my budget huge need to upgrade my A/V sys both for now the future BUT I have one big concern .. You see .. I'm still using an older, NON HD TV it may be awhile before I'm ready to replace it w an HD TV... That means I won't be able to use the HDMI connections on the receiver. Can anyone explain to me how that's going to effect my audio (as well as video) quality, especially since these Pioneer receivers apparently don't have S-Video connections. The only other components (for now) will be a combo VHS/DVD player I-pod. From reading everyone's reviews, am I correct in believing that not being able to use HDMI will limit my audio quality? I obviously don't expect HD video performance from a non HD TV using multiple cables instead of 1, to me, isn't a big deal, BUT what about the audio ( video) performance while using my Non HD TV? DVD's (non HD)? CD's? FM? and MP3? Pioneer VSX-1018AH 7.1-Channel A/V Receiver
