Excellent low cost receiver January 13, 2008

The HK 144 receiver has excellent sound with tight natural bass. I have been an audiophile for over 30 years and this receiver is among the best I've owned. The functions are user friendly and it has a look of understated quality. A great heart to a quality theatre system in a small to medium listening enviroment.
