Product Description NAD has always had a formidable reputation when it comes to high performance receivers. The company combines its most popular amplifiers with a high performance AM/FM tuner to make receivers with a solid 'genetic advantage.' The NAD 7020, and more recently the NAD C740 have received worldwide accolades for their outstanding musical performance and superb value. As an encore, NAD has created an updated version called the C720BEE. This combines the award winning C320BEE amplifier with an RDS AM/FM tuner, and includes a Multi-source Zone 2 facility that allows you to listen to your music independently in another room of your home by simply adding an amplifier and another pair of speakers. Circuit Refinements for Great Sound The C720BEE features many circuit refinements trickled down from NAD's award winning amplifiers, including active current sources and common base current followers in the power amp section. This dramatically reduces dynamic intermodulation distortion between music signal components in different frequency ranges, and between the music signals and the power supply ripple and distortion components. In measurement terms, both static and dynamic IM distortion are reduced by between 10 dB to 20 dB (to between -90 dB and -100 dB.) In audible terms this improves definition, purity, and resolution, resulting in upgraded imaging. Compared to its predecessor the C740, NAD has improved the accuracy of the tone controls, increasing their boost/cut range by 1.5dB and have specified a better quality volume control. While some of these are small improvements in and of themselves, there is an additive effect that results in a more refined and authoritative sound, building on the strengths of the already very good design of the C740 and making it the equal of the C320BEE. PowerDrive Technology The C720BEE benefits from NAD's proprietary PowerDrive topology. This further refinement of Power Envelope and ISC, is now well establis

EXCELLENT November 11, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am VERY pleased with this amp/tuner. The sound is amazing even with just a couple of simple Bose shelf speakers.
So why only four stars, you ask.
ANSWER: No iPod support.(How difficult can it be to add a jack for an mp3 player?)
When I looked on the NAD site, the FAQ page asks: "Can I use my iPod with my NAD amp?" The answer was: "Sure, you just need a 3mm to 3mm cable and hook it up to Amp In".
Not so with the C720. Which is okay, I guess. I probably would have got it anyways. But the subtly deceptive answer is partly why only four stars. Also, tech support took a good 10 days getting back to me with the same question with nothing but a link to FAQ's.
Regardless, I would definatly recommend it. (And there might even be an RCA to 3mm cable out there, I haven't looked yet. But it is yet another item I need to hunt down and buy. Anyone out there need a 3mm to 3mm cable??)
