The tuner hails from Teac's Reference line, a collection of components designed with thinner profiles than traditional stereo devices. This particular tuner measures 11.5 inches across (most components measure in the 17-inch range), making it a perfect option for listeners with narrow entertainment cabinets or shelves. In addition, the T-H500 is equipped with a host of valuable features beyond its convenient size, such as a PLL (phase-locked loop) synthesized tuning system and 60 memory presets (30 AM and 30 FM) to cover the entire radio dial in all but the busiest markets. The tuner also boasts a multifunction fluorescent display that shows the station info clearly, along with daily, sleep, and remote timer functions. And should the power go down, the tuner's preset memory backup keeps all the information current so you don't have to reprogram it later.
