Product Description Samsung's innovative home theater technology meets a stunning new design. A modern "sound bar" shape with 2.1 channel DVD capabilities offers the perfect blend of hi-fi elegance. Built-in Bluetooth capabilities eliminate the clutter of wires, while 280W output and wireless subwoofer give you all the power you need. Enjoy HD films and shows the way they were meant to be enjoyed, with 5.1 virtual surround sound. Advanced HDMI connectivity with 1080p up-conversion offers crisp, clear HD images to match the pristine sound. And the unique wall-mountable design makes this the ideal home theater complement for any HDTV 40'' or larger.

looks good but works lousy November 4, 2009 S. Katabjiwala We bought this system in Dec 2008 and already the problems are evident in less than a year of limited use. most of the problems are with the DVD player , most of the disc just dont work but when we install them in an old player that we have it works fine. presently the samsung dvd just does not play any dvds at all...trying to call Samsung cust service is a nightmare with hold time of over 20 minutes.....
Nice sound without all the wires of a typical home theatre set-up. October 30, 2009 Mark E. Holcomb I'm pretty happy with the sound quality of a somewhat compact speaker system. I wish Samsung had a Blu-ray disc system rather than the normal DVD setup that's built in. I haven't noticed any RF interference in the wireless subwoofer. I bought the system at Costco for $349.99 if you want to save some money.
Works well, but.... September 29, 2009 Quenchai (Jersey City, NJ) I bought this a few months ago and the sound is great. I read some prior reviews regarding the bass, and it is adjustable -- you can even disable the subwoofer off. The only problem I had was that the remote stopped working properly about a month after I got it. It would turn my samsung t.v. on/off, but would not control any of the speaker/dvd functions. I contacted Samsung and they sent a new remote in about two weeks or so (give or take). The new remote didn't work either. So, I contacted Samsung again, and they arranged to have me ship the unit to a repair facility. They emailed me a ups shipment label, which saved me shipping costs, although I still had to buy a box, which costs about $35.00 (its a big piece). I just received the speaker back after about 1.5 weeks, and it seems to work fine now. Bottom line, the speaker works well -- the sound is great and the movie quality is impressive -- but beware of faulty remotes. No complaints about the service other than having to pay for the box.
Cumbersome and somewhat limited adjustability August 27, 2009 consumer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have the Samsung 67" HL67A750 DLP LED tv which has a spectacular picture but marginal sound. We bought the HT-X810 primarily to improve voice quality on cable standard and high def broadcasting and dvd. To do this, separate audio cables (l r) must be connected from the tv "audio out" to the ht "audio in" (or you can use a single optical cable). Then, you must scroll through the various input options which only read out on the small digital screen on the ht box, not simultaneously on the tv. The ht digital screen is too small to be seen from 12-15 feet away. Even when you find the correct input, there is a several second delay before the sound begins (this isn't a problem if you know you've got the right input but, as noted, you can't see it from viewing distance). When playing a dvd (doesn't play Blu-Ray) the sound originates from the ht, not the tv. The ht box doesn't have an equalizer and other sound adjustment capability that tv has. No treble, no base, nothing to customize to your preference. As others have noted, the sub-woofer booms even at lowest settings and isn't adjustable. I called Samsung customer service and spoke with someone who was much more interested in gathering extensive demographic data than answering my questions. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was ingnored. Finally, she stated she needed to obtain help and put me on hold. After 3-4" she had not returned so I hung up.
br /I plan to return this to [...] and will continue to search for a unit that allows better sound adjustability.
DVD malfunction August 21, 2009 G. kelley (glen allan, va United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these at Costco. Unfortunately I had the same problem as other posters (wish I had read reviews before buying) with the DVD halting and skipping. I tried several DVDs to ensure it was the unit and not my disks. I returned the unit to Costo and will not replace this unit. It is too bad because it set up nicely with a matching Samsung LCD TV and sounded reasonably good (though I agree that the subwoofer is a bit strong). Sometime less is more and in this case it would have been better to skip the DVD rather than put out a device with an apparently high failure rate.
