It features a built-in standard, 181-channel NTSC tuner, and it's capable of HD (High Definition) and ED (Enhanced Definition) resolution for an even better picture, with an optional set-top box. It also includes side-mounted stereo speakers that produce 8 watts of power per channel (for 16 watts of total power). It can provide virtual surround sound via the set's two speakers, and it includes a jack for an external subwoofer. This TV has a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio for optimal viewing of high definition broadcasts and DVD movies. It also features a fast 16 ms (millisecond) response rate, 170-degree viewing angle, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and 600:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) It offers compatibility with 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i high definition formats. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time, to reduce dramatically edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. Sceptre works for me (Los Angeles, CA)
I bought this TV 2 years ago. It was my first flat panel and I've been very happy with it. It's not a full 1080p but it also costs alot less than 1080ps of the same size. I've never had a single problem with it. It was ready to use right out of the box. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking to replace an old CRT with a flat panel but doesn't want to break the bank.
