Product Description The Samsung HT-Z320T can improve the look and sound of virtually any DVD. An HDMI connection up-converts DVDs to near 1080p, so they'll look great on your HDTV. Auto Sound Calibration (ASC) balances speaker output for optimal 5.1-channel surround sound reproduction, and front / center speaker cones with bio kelp fibers deliver clearer sound with less distortion. And, you can enjoy stored music and media using the iPod dock with video, audio and iPhone support.

Good Basic Unit If You have a Samsung TV January 8, 2010 Glen A. Nelson (SF Bay Area) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unit has OK sound. It's nowhere near 1000 watts though. more like 100. Easy to assemble. If you need sound through the unit from the TV, you will need a fiber-optic TosLink cable in addition to the HDMI cable. Our TV, Samsung 42B450 only does audio-in on HDMI (ref p.30 in stereo user manual#. The system works great w/Samsung's AnyNet, 1 remote controls it all. DVD plays all the disks we have- CD-R w/MP3, DVD-RW and R. Bass is too strong at factory settings.
Pros; low cost, goes well w/other Samsung equipment, sound is OK, small center speaker, CD-rip capable, USB and I-POD support.
Cons; Front panel buttons not lighted, 1000 watt claim is a joke, proper cables are not included #HDMI and TosLink)
Overall, we like and will keep the unit. It's for our formal living room and is not the main system.
Love it January 8, 2010 cafe poret (florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love this surround sound system. Does everything you would expect from a boxed HT system. Got it with a 50" plasma and it works great. Hooked up with HDMI cable and digital optical cable for surround sound and DVD picture. Sounds awesome with movies...star trek, new wolverine x-men movie etc. This is the easiest thing in the world to hook up anyone can do it.
Very nice HDTV Sound System December 6, 2009 Micah Duchan 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very good sound system at a reasonable price and with the quality you expect from Samsung. It is not overly difficult to set up and the sound is very nice. Overall a nice buy and am satisfied.
Surround sound? no. Surround noise November 20, 2009 Thomas Conrad (Washington, dc) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had a good surround sound system that died. While I get sound around, it all sounds the same. Not Dolby, like in a theatre. Plays DVDs fine. No problem with picture. But really unhappy with sound. one to two stars.
Great for $200 November 9, 2009 R. Svedin (Birch Bay, WA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wanted a cheap system so I purchased this one from my local store. It's fairly easy to set up and use. When I plugged my iphone in, I'm used to things working instantly but with this system, you need to wait about 10 seconds for it to recognize the iphone and then play music.
Sound quality if good. Remote is easy to use.
All in all, happy with my purchase. I'd recommend it for someone who wants a cheap system. Keep in mind...for $200 you are getting a dvd player, receiver, 5 speakers, 1 sub-woofer. It's inexpensive and you get a lot for the low price point. But cheaper things do tend to break more
