I am really pleased with this dvd player. For the price it has great picture and sound quality. What particularly appeals is that it has a simple visual display, no more distracting lights as my last panasonic did.

This unit produces a great picture and works brilliantly not upscaled. When upscaled to 720 the picture is still excellent, however when the layer of the dvd is changed (normally mid-way through a film) the screen turns bright blue for an instant while the laser adjust to the new layer. At first I found this annoying but as the unit is not the main player in the house, I tend to ignore this now.
The only other niggle is the remote which is small, hard to read and fiddly.
In conclusion, I would say this player gives great results for an excellent price.

I previously bought the Toshiba SD270E - Multi-region Capable DVD Player, and was very happy with it. When I decided to buy a DVD player as a present for my paretns, I decided to look at the Toshiba models, as I was looking for something that was reasonably priced, simple to work and that did the job. I found this model works well and has good quality sound and picture. I think the product is easy to use when set up, but you will need to use the hack procedure for changing the region, if you are planing on playing other region DVD's. However, I have set up the DVD and changed it to multi region, using the hack procedure, so that my parents can easily watch what they want withiout having to change the region each time, and they only need to worry about the basic controls. I have found that the DVD player is also smaller than mine, and I am pleased with its appearance. Overall I am very happy with this and would recommend it.
