We bought this for our 5 year old girl as she's not quite ready for an I-POD yet (although very nearly)and she loves music.
It looks nice, very girly, easy to operate, clearly labelled controls and an easy open CD lid too. There's no headphone socket, but what do you expect for the money. It's a well made unit and sound quality is ok... not much in th ebass department, but fine for my daughter's 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' album! Well worth the money as a child's first CD player.

Bought for my 9 year old daughter. Looks fab, she loves it but doesn't sound good! There is no depth to the sound. It's very tinny. There is no sound adjustment on system apart from volume. Sounds best at it's loudest but thats not ideal! Both Mum and Dad very disappointed considering it's Sony and their products are not cheap!

...some people just like to complain for the sake of it! This product does exactly what it's supposed to do, and is well made and easy to use. I think the sound quality is acceptable for a carry-about system and as for it not having a phone-jack point, well, isn't that what MP3 players and iPods were invented for?!!!

perfect for a small childs room as its very easy to use and stylish with a big name brand. Only downside for me is that its not very loud but the more i think about it that could be a good thing.It is probably loud enough for a child though.
