Thriving Ivory is a five-member US rock band from Santa Barbara, California. After building a loyal fan base locally, Thriving Ivory moved to the Bay Area and exploded onto the music scene. With a sound inspired by U2 and Coldplay, these rockers are poised to break out with this self-titled release. The debut album hit #42 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The Thriving Ivory Musicians are Bret Cohune, Drew Cribley, Scott Jason, Paul Niedermier, Clayton Stroope. The Album Producers were Howard Benson and Chris Manning.

I kind of just stumbled across this band when I was searching for something on iTunes and they just blew me away. br / br /The product description compares Thriving Ivory's sound to that of Coldplay and U2. If I were to give you a synopsis of the band, I'd say they took elements from those two iconic rock groups and put them together. From Coldplay's slow, melodic piano to the cutting guitar riffs of U2, Thriving Ivory has practically innovated their own genre. They're a less "pop", occasionally faster paced version of Augustana, with much more poetic writing. br / br /Thriving Ivory is probably one of my better finds in recent years. I highly recommend them for anybody interested in melodic rock. br / br /Songs Worth Noting: (try a few out on youtube or imeem) br /"Runaway" br /"Angels On The Moon" br /"Hey Lady" br /"Secret Life" br /"Unhappy" br /"Light Up Mississippi" br / br /Grade: A+

This CD is awesome. We heard one of the songs on One Tree Hill, and had to have it. The entire CD is great!
