Refreshing and Real June 9, 2008
Having now viewed this DVD it has reaffirmed my expectation that it would be a wonderful resource for those wishing to create a better relationship with their horse.
What struck me immediately was how relaxed and unpretentious Carlos is in front of the camera - a natural - which is not only refreshing but nice and comfortable for those watching.
I loved the start - a man and his horse - and I loved the fact it didn't look rehearsed. The horses looked like horses, individuals with real issues reflecting their pasts, personalities, and levels of training which Carlos worked with, and through, with equanimity and patience.
What was clear and reiterated again and again was how important all the basics are, the foundations, and how all the 'fancy stuff' is merely variations on these themes. The simplicity gives all of us as students hope that we can become better horsemen.
I loved the fact that Carlos kept it real - not everything worked to plan the first time - but he persevered, continued working towards his goal, and knew when to quit. All essential lessons in themselves!!
Most importantly, Carlos never loses sight of who the real stars are, and he honours all of them through his words and actions.
Finally, the elements of the production, the photography and the music help create a mood that is both engaging and uplifting.
Brilliant DVD May 24, 2008
Hi Everyone
I am writing from Perth, Western Australia I have just viewed Carlos' DVD and like most of you, I feel we have been blessed to have such a brilliant and gifted horsemen to re-educate us in how to connect with our equine companions from a spiritually, physically and emotional level.
I believe the DVD is an extension from the book and assists those people who have also attended his clinic to cement what they have learnt. If you have attended one of Carlos' clinics you will know there is alot of information for both rider and horse to absorb, so this DVD is brilliant in that it allows us to view over again things that we may have forgotten at the clinic.
It is refreshing to see Carlos using horses that he is starting or re-educating, horses that have real issues and need his assistance to overcome their issues. Carlos is genuine, honest and truthful when working with these horses and this is reflected in how they respond to him.
This DVD inspires us to let our equine companions teach us to listen to them and eventually follow our dreams of being better horse people and being at one with our equine friends.
Thank you Carlos for showing us the way via the horse.
