5 out of 5 stars Celebrity Detox   June 24, 2008
R. Labelle (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada)
I have just loved Rosie since she started her talk show many moons ago. I find that her honesty is so admirable in this world of people who want to appear perfect. Her book touched my heart. I can now see how the loss of a mother and the absence of a loving father can hurt a child for the rest of their life. The part of the book that touched me the most was when Rosie was hurt and had no one to turn to at home and had to find a neighbour to help her. I felt her pain. The things I admire the most about her are her intelligence, her compassion for other people, and her abiity to make people laugh so easily. I think that all of these qualities plus her tremendous courage are what make her the amazing person that she is. Hats off to Rosie.

5 out of 5 stars a real book from a real person   February 19, 2008

I am not typically a star stuck person and NEVER read blogs or books written by stars etc but when I heard about Rosie's BLOG and through there her new book I found myself inexplicably drawn to her realness. I always image stars as being different than the masses but Rosie, through her BLOG and books, has shown me that she is just another person - she laughs, she cries, she hurts, she has true feelings. The book is a window into her world and makes her even more relatable than ever before. She is charitable, loving, lonely, family driven, SUN lover and Forget all of the lies you have heard about her in the tabloids or trash magazine shows (or from the "dump truck") and read it with an open mind.

1 out of 5 stars A Total Waste of Paper   October 28, 2007

This is one of the worst books ever written.
There was a time when I liked Rosie (back when she had her own show, the early years) but I grew to dislike her as her ego grew. This book is the most self-serving, self-obsessed, "I am always right", "I am a spokesperson for the world", "My view is the only one that counts" piece of crap that has ever been written.
I am proud to say that I borrowed this book and did not pay a penny for it: although "ALL" profits are to go to her foundation. I can only imagine how narcissistic she runs that outfit. This seriously delusional attempt at "literature" (or as she calls it THE TRUTH) is worth nothing more than to sit on the shelf beside the hole in the outhouse...
(that's "My View"!)

1 out of 5 stars This was boring and i can't believe I spent my money on it.   October 12, 2007

This book was the most boring book ever, I can't believe it ....she talked about a small fight she had with Barbara and she didn't fit in.
and how in love she is with Barbara Streisand saying this over and over and over again. God it was the worst.
However I did read more than words, and my god, i was so touched by it and I cried over and over again,Ihad to put the book down, because it was so heart breaking, and so real. This is a book you will never forget.

i too am waiting for celebrity detox to arrive at my door. I ordered it about 2 months ago and now finally it is to arrive at my door on the 11th.
AMAZON....remove the link that puts "if i did it" with "Celebrity Detox". i thought Rosie had contacted you and asked you to stop.
OJ is murdering scum.
I would think you would have brains enough to know that anyone wanting to buy Ro's new book would not be even slightly interested in that slop. i am offeneded u would think i would be interested.
