Great Video! July 4, 2008 Glenn Simon Inc (Edmonton, Alberta / Tochigi, Japan) I bought this video and Leisa Hart's Fitmama at the same time. This one is far better if you had an established exercise regime before you became pregnant. It's a good workout! I would keep doing it even if I wasn't pregnant but couldn't go to the gym. You certainly feel like you are doing something with this video, whereas with Fitmama it seems like a warm up or cool down video. I strongly recommend you get it IF you were an avid exerciser before. When I hit my third trimester it was hard sometimes then I only did 25 minutes of the 40 minute workout. The ground work portion gave me incredible heartburn so I usually stopped before that and went for a walk. The partner exercise is ok to try once and I did get a great workout but I didn't feel it was necessary.
Good workout! March 25, 2008 Leslie (Ottawa) I was looking for a pregnancy video that WASN"T yoga and that would actually be a bit of an all-around workout. This video seems to do the trick! There are a LOT of squats (have a feeling I'm going to be sore tomorrow.....), and there are a few exercises that I prefer to modify (I feel more comfortable using weights to work my triceps, rather than doing tricep dips), but overall, it was a nice workout. I got my heart-rate up, it was easy to follow and I feel like I'll actually get some muscle tone out of it. Pre-pregnancy, I was slim/average build and average fitness level. I would recommend this to anyone who was in decent shape before pregnancy...if you're not an exerciser at all, then it might be a little too much.
High energy workout with character! January 30, 2008 S. Leger (Ontario) I am in my first trimester and have worked out prior to being pregnant. Wow, what a workout! I thought I was in pretty good shape. Though this seems to have been filmed at her home, the quality was quite good and it really added to the relaxed feel - Almost like a one on one with your very own personal trainer. As the DVD progressed it began to make more sense as to why she was in a living room because all the equipment necessary for an effective workout was in the room - coffee table, chair etc. She moved quick but explained herself very well so I had no fears of hurting myself. I highly recommend this DVD.
Fabulous for people who have been working out prior August 27, 2007 S. Morris (Alberta Canada) I have been working out 5 days a week for the past 3 years before I got pregnant, so I really wanted to continue through out. I absolutley LOVE this workout! Erin really gets your heart rate going, and it is also nice that she herself is pregnant, so she knows what we are going through :) I most definatley reccomend this workout video if you are looking for something to get your heart rate up, and make you sweat a little! No need to worry about props either, all you need is a wall, the edge of a couch and a kitchen chair. It is great!! Happy Exercising :)
Pretty good February 9, 2007 H. Logan (Ottawa, ON, Canada) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have tried about eight different pregnancy workouts, and have found this to be the only one that feels like a real WORKOUT. So many of them are nice and relaxing and teach you about breathing, kegels, etc., but the exercises are incredibly easy. This one got my heart-rate up a bit, and left me sore the next day (in a good way). It's great for someone who already has an established exercise routine. Erin O'Brien is a wee bit annoying, but what I like is that she's doing the workout in her own living room, using the couch, coffee table, and wall as props, and she works you hard. She combines a few aspects of pilates and yoga with her cardio and strength exercises and leaves you feeling like you did something good for your body.
