Great workout if you like ballet! January 15, 2008 Sabrina (Canada) I just loved this ballet routine workout! It goes through the basic training that ballet dancers actually do, and so you feel like a graceful dancer. You feel your muscles working, and at some point your cadio too, but cardio isn't the main thing here. It is really great if you want strenght, flexibility and toning for your body, and of course if you like the slow pace of ballet. It is especially hard to keep your arms up all that time. I loved feeling energized after this workout, and there is a wonderful by the ocean setting that makes me relaxed. You'll feel proud of yourself after doing this!
Just beginning, but good. January 4, 2008 Fitness Novice (Canada) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have done personal training where the core of the routine is ballet as my trainer was from the National Ballet School. The moves here are good, but it is imparative that your back is straight and that your knees are slightly bent. The good thing about this DVD is that the instructor tells you that you'll be more flexible over time, so that if you can only lift your leg an inch off the ground at this point, that's good, but you'll become better. This is my first day using this DVD. I am looking for tonned result, so perhaps I'll post another review in four weeks. I can tell you so far, that if you keep your posture straight, and your abs tight (the best you can), you'll be feeling the moves after one session. The only downfall is that the DVD doesn't take the time to tell you the best posture or ways to point your toes. Take care, because if these moves are not done properly, you could potentially hurt yourself. For example, you don't want to be feeling strain in your knees. If you are you are either bending too far down, are not standing straight, or doing the move wrong. It's just a shame the DVD doesn't address these issues.
