F.U.N July 15, 2004 Lotus Scrum (Phoenix, Az United States) is this film corny? silly? fun? YES! its a FUN romp! The acting is great the story is great its a very well done version of the classic story. the sword fighting isnt bad either. If you have seen this you must get it quick, most disney films don't last long. If you like swashbuckling movies that are fun and pay homeage to the films of days long gone this is for you!
BRAVO!!! July 10, 2004 L Gontzes (Athens, Greece) Definitely a great epic movie and one of my personal favorites, The Three Musketeers, brings to the screen the tale of who else, but Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D'Artagnan. Kiefer Sutherland, Chris O'Donnell, Charlie Sheen, Oliver Platt, Tim Curry, and the gorgeous Rebecca De Mornay whose performances are simply amazing, make this movie one of the best of its kind. (Tim Curry's character, in particular, as Cardinal Richelieu, steals the show!)brThe actors' great talent and chemistry clearly shows, thus providing an entertaining film that can be watched over and over again. The castles, the battles and the costumes are all wonderful! The Three Musketeers is a movie about love, honor, bravery, loyalty, and heroes from a time long gone. It is a great movie indeed!
Wish I could give it O stars February 9, 2004 Valerie (SEATTLE, WA USA) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
The cast seems ludicrously out of place in this movie--only Anwar is partially believable and her part is slight.pIf you wish to see an interesting an authentic three musketeers, look for AISN B00006LPC5 , a 1972 version that is incredible.
A feel good family movie December 29, 2003 Stephanie R. Martin (Post Falls, ID) I've loved this movie since it first came out. It was one of those movies that had enough of everything to keep anyone entertained. There's a little romance, some mystery, and a lot of action. And, it's appropriate for almost any age group, which makes it an ideal family movie.pMy only complaint with the DVD is it's lacking in the special features. There's nor delete scenes nor trailer, and the only two extras are the music video for the theme "All For Love" and a featurette. I can excuse the lack of deleted scenes because the movie came out in 1993, and studios seldom keep the scenes for that long. I do with is had a trailer though.
All for one and all for fun! December 14, 2003 A. Reum (Montana, USA) A favorite in our house, this movie offers something for everyone. Disney outdid themselves when remaking the classic Alexandre Dumas story. It's been done so many times and very well, but this one was just so much fun. pThe line up of actors for this film is quite incredible. The starring cast consist of Keifer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Chris O'Donnell, Oliver Platt, Tim Curry, and Rebecca De Mornay. Not only was the cast incredible, the title track All For Love is performed by Sting, Bryan Adams, and Rod Stewart. Can you imagine the cost of making this movie today?pThis movie resonates the very essence of Action Film. The fighting, racing horses, and dueling almost never end. Did I mention this was an action film? The violence in this film is more by implication than gruesome portrayals of death and fighting. pAdd to the action a high dose of comedy. Oliver Platt is hilarious as Porthos. Tim Curry adds whit and humor to the evil character of Cardinal Richelieu.pThe Three Musketeers was filmed on location in Europe which adds a believability that allows the viewer to be swept away into the story. Thousands of extras, hundreds of horses, and beautiful costumes and photography combine to make this a fantastic movie you could watch over and over.
