I laughed and cried my way through this entire series. Watching it was like falling in love. The characters were so incredibly compelling that I felt I was part of their lives. This is a unique drama.

This series takes a darkly comic look at members of a dysfunctional L.A. family that run a funeral business.
When death is your business, what is your life? For the Fisher family, the world outside of their family-owned funeral home continues and is as challenging as the one inside.
It basically touches almost every taboo subjects out there and puts it into a very intelligent storyline for entertainment at it's best!
Recommended for any open-minded viewers, but not so much for viewers with restriction in regards to sexual content, religion, etc.

Six Feet Under is by far one of the best shows in television history. The show's unique examinations of death and grieving are intertwined with poignent emotion and abstract humour. The writting is unparalleled and the cast executes every scene with understated brilliance, connecting with the viewer and drawing true emotional responses. The series is unlike any other and every episode, from the first to the last, is utterly inspired and unforgettably moving. You can watch this series over and over, and you will never get tired. Six Feet Under is unique, brilliant, and not to be missed!

Though the last season was a fair bit depressing, the acting, direction, consistency and writing of Six Feet Under was second to none from the pilot right on through the finale. I have never seen a TV show elicit more emotional involvement, and I've been an idiot box junkie for 30 years. The only series that even come close to its quality are, not surprisingly, all HBO series.
If you've never seen Six Feet Under, watch the pilot episode. Unless it immediately offends you (those with very conservative religious convictions), I guarantee you'll watch it all.
