Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great show, but where is the music?   August 13, 2008
I eagerly anticipated the arrival of my copy of The Hills season three. I really enjoy the show, and I was looking forward to the outtakes, interviews and commentary that would not be seen on MTV.

Watching the episodes, though, I was saddened to see that they have replaced most of the *new* music with other songs that are not as catchy and don't suit the mood/tone of the scene.

In the first episode, after Heidi confronts Lauren at Les Deux, she and Spencer drive away with One Republic's No Apology playing. Not anymore!

In the second episode, Lauren goes home to talk with her Mom about the recent events in her life, as she steps out onto the balcony, Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry plays. Not anymore!

The Hills is just us much about the storyline as it is about the music. They go hand in hand.

I am truly disappointed.

As for the extras, they are enjoyable! You get interviews with Lauren, Heidi, Audrina and Whitney. Audrina, Whitney and Lauren share commentary on a few important scenes, and then Heidi does her own seperate commentary. And there are 40 minutes of deleted material, that is interesting and provides more insight into certain episodes.

A great third season to an already enjoyable show, but next time MTV, please don't cheap out on the music!
