5 out of 5 stars "Bruno Pelletier et le GrosZorchestre" DELIVERS!   March 29, 2008

What better formula for success than a gifted and versatile singer backed by three outstanding jazz musicians who come together to form a seamless whole? br / br /I have found Bruno Pelletier's name to be synonymous with high quality, and the work on this cd is no exception. The blending of pop and jazz styles provides a delightful variety of selections, and will appeal to the whole spectrum of music listeners. For those fans of Bruno who fear that this new format may be too divergent from his previous work, no worries. It's all there: the passion, the sensitivity, the beauty, and that ever-present honesty with which he approaches all his work, and which makes his songs ring true. br / br /The 15 tracks are comprised of 3 familiar songs with fresh new arrangements from Bruno Pelletier's repertoire, (notably a terrific, slow, bluesy version of "J'oublie ma folie,"), br /4 choice selections in English, (songs from Billy Joel, Nat King Cole, and 2 from Sting), br /7 wonderful new original songs, and finally, an incredible interpretation of Jacques Brel's "La chanson des vieux amants." Without a doubt, Bruno's poignant rendition of that song will be the new standard by which all others will be measured. br / br /The mark of a committed artist is the courage and ability to maintain the creative element and a willingness to grow and to embrace new ideas. Bruno Pelletier's body of work suggests that he has never shied away from these challenges. Additionally, a better choice could not have been made for the "GrosZorchestre" than Julie Lamontagne's trio with Dave Watts and Richard Irwin. Their expertise and resourcefulness complement perfectly Bruno Pelletier's commanding vocal talents and the
