Way too expensive.!!!!! Boring. November 11, 2008 Beatrice (Canada) Why is this DVD so expensive? br /It's not even a very good movie. br /Predictable from beginning to end. br /Boring.
"I feel like I just found out my favorite love song was written about a sandwich" August 27, 2008 Belen (Buenos Aires, Argentina) "27 dresses" is a mildly entertaining comedy that doesn't really rise above average, but makes you laugh from time to time, and has some clever one liners that are quite funny. br / br /The main character is Jane Nichols (Katherine Heigl), a woman that adores weddings, and has made a hobby out of being a bridesmaid. She would love to get married, and has already found the right man for her, George (Edward Burns), her boss. Unfortunately, he sees Jane as a friend, and falls head over heels in love for someone else, who happens to be Jane's younger sister, Tess (Malin Akerman). Things get even more confusing for Jane when Kevin (James Marsden), a handsome and somewhat cynical journalist that covers weddings, enters the picture. br / br /All in all, I can say that I liked "27 dresses", but that I'm not likely to watch it again anytime soon. My recommendation? If you hate "chick flicks", stay far away from this movie. In case you are not against them, give this romantic comedy a try.
Uggh July 22, 2008 G. Motychko (Toronto, Canada) I think the only reason I rented this movie was because it was made by, 'The Devil Wears Prada' people. Come to think of it, that movie wasn't even that great. So this movie should have sucked. br / br /Well, it did. As soon as I put the DVD into the player, I could predict the movie, beginning, middle and yes, the end. So needless to say, it was so boring. It had every component of the stereotypical 'chick flick'- deep and mysterious guy, cheeky girl, drunken night with deep and mysterious guy, realized your drunken night with deep and mysterious guy, avoid deep and mysterious guy, realize all you ever needed was him- deep and mysterious guys fixes your life. La de da. It was just so LAME. Gracious! It was so weak and the plot had potential, but it was just washed away with overt cheesiness! I don't even know if this movie is worth two stars! br / br /Don't buy it! It doesn't matter what movie genre you are in the mood for, this won't fit.

Short Attention Span Summary (SASS) br / br /1. Jane (Katherine Heigl) loves weddings br /2. See Jane plan other people's weddings (for free) br /3. See Jane attend two weddings in one night br /4. Poor Jane br /5. Lucky cabbie br /6. Meet Kevin (James Marsden) br /7. Kevin writes about marriages in the newspaper br /8. Sneaky Kevin br /9. See Jane's sister Tess (Malin Ackerman) br /10. Bad Tess br /11. See Tess make Jane see red br /12. See Kevin make Jane see red br /13. Watch Jane blow br /14. Go Jane, go br /15. See Jane get ultimate bridesmaid's revenge br / br / br /This is a romantic comedy and chick flick, and Katherine Heigl shines as its brightest star. Marsden is no Prince Charming this time, but is extremely convincing as a cynical columnist with a hidden softer side. Good performances by Ackerman and Edward Burns (as Jane's boss and secret crush George) round out a light, but immensely entertaining movie. br / br / br / br /Amanda Richards
