From Amazon.com IThe African Queen/I meets ISwept Away /I in this sometimes labored romantic comedy by director Ivan Reitman. Fortunately, he cast an old pro in Harrison Ford, as Quinn Harris, a South Seas charter pilot who must ferry New York fashion editor Robin Monroe (Anne Heche) from one island to another--a hop that falls flat when they fly into a mammoth storm that causes them to crash on a deserted island. The pair resent and resist each other, until they are forced to team up to escape from the island--and some modern pirates who want their heads. If that part of the story is unconvincing, you can always focus on the smoldering comic chemistry between Heche, who displays strong comic instincts, and the ever-reliable Ford. The script is just an excuse for these two flinty characters to strike increasingly romantic sparks off each other, which is always enjoyable to watch. I--Marshall Fine/I

Litte late to be reviewing this, I don't own the movie, but I've rented it a few times, it's about 2 people being stranded on an island after crashing in a plane in a heavy storm, and they have to survive for six days, and seven nights, this movie is a great adventure, and also funny in some parts, check it out today, if you haven't seen it already.
Great Harrison Ford Adventure Film! February 27, 2004 L. Spencer (Canada) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This action-adventure film stars Harrison Ford as a laid-back island-hopping pilot, Anne Heche as an aggressive New York magazine editor, and David Schwimmer as her boyfriend. The scenes open in a snowy New York City, where David Schwimmer has just told Anne Heche (Robin) that he's taking her to the island of Maccatea for six days and seven nights of romance and fun in the sun. Upon reaching Tahiti, they must change planes to get to Maccatea and discover, to their chagrin, that their pilot is a slightly disheveled and disorganized Harrison Ford, and the plane itself is a Beaver float plane. In spite of the uncomfortable flight, they make it safely to their paradise destination, and all is well. However, shortly after arriving, Robin's boss calls her from the Big Apple and tells her that she must go on assignment to Tahiti, to cover for someone who is sick. Against her wishes, Robin enlists the services of the local pilot, Quinney (Harrison Ford) and they fly out to Tahiti. Half way there, a horrific thunderstorm crops up out of nowhere and they are forced to make an emergency landing on a tropical island. pFrom that point, the plot could be considered predictable, except for two things: the beauty of the location shots (filmed mostly in the Hawaiian Islands) and the brilliant comedic interaction between Ford and Heche. As an unlikely couple, they clash and spar frequently, but between the layers is a delicious sense of wit and rapport.pFor an entertaining and enjoyable film, I recommend Six Days and Seven Nights.
Can't Believe It ... I love This movie February 10, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very sceptical about Anne Heche as an actress in a romantic comedy role but, her quick feisty wit is the perfect foil to Ford's more deadpan humor. This movie is so much fun that my wife and I now watch it at least 3-4 times year. The south seas setting feels mighty good too on a MN winter movie night.pIf you enjoyed movies like; Romancing The Stone, Crocodile Dundee, Hopscotch, and The Electric Horseman then you'll love this movie too.
Action adventure and romantic comedy November 13, 2003 L. Spencer (Canada) When abrasive New Yorker Robin Monroe (Anne Heche) and her boyfriend Frank (David Schwimmer), head out to an idyllic Polynesian island for some RR, all is well until Robin's boss in New York calls her and begs Robin to fly to neighboring Tahiti to take on an urgent assignment. Reluctantly, Robin agrees and approaches the local island-hopping pilot, Quinn (Harrison Ford). Quinn agrees to fly Robin to Tahiti, but during the flight, they are beset by a thunderstorm and forced to crash-land on a deserted island. Shipwrecked, two completely opposite personalities clash and come together in a series of highly entertaining and enjoyable adventures, including basic survival, a run-in with off-shore murderous pirates, and overcoming the odds to set about escaping from the island. The scenery is gorgeous, offset by a great soundtrack, and Ford is at his comedic best playing a tipsy, laid-back playboy whose South Pacific laisse-faire is a perfect foil for Heche's highly strung city-girl character.pFord and Heche do wonders with the standard stuck-on-a-desert-island plot, and instead of being mundane it shines with real humor and unexpected twists and turns. Both actors display a true affinity for hilarious one-liners and unsuspected tender moments. A delightful movie. Highly recommended.
