From Amazon.com Because of his tragic death on the set of iThe Crow/i, we'll never know if Brandon Lee would have turned one successful film into a popular series. But one look at this tepid sequel suggests that not even the charismatic Lee could have rescued iThe Crow/i movies from the burden of a lackluster screenplay. Based on the popular comic books by James O'Barr, this sequel finds Vincent Perez as a man named Ashe, who is murdered along with his young son by a gang of drug-running thugs under the employ of slimy kingpin Judah Earl (Richard Brooks). Ashe is resurrected with the help of a tattoo artist named Sarah (Mia Kirschner), whereupon he begins a campaign of revenge against his killers. More a rehash than a sequel, the film repeats the grungy, dark look of urban decay from iThe Crow/i, but its combination of violence, heavy-handed symbolism, and tacky sentiment make this a film strictly for nihilistic teens. Then again, no movie in which veteran punkster Iggy Pop plays a sleazeball can be considered a total loss. i--Jeff Shannon/i

I have never been so sourly disapointed July 14, 2004 C. Entner (glendora, ca. United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the movie The Crow. When I saw it I knew that I had to get it. It was one of the greatest revenge movies ever made. So of course I was very excited to see the second one in my local video store I could not wait to run out and get it. But the second the star opened his mouth I knew that I was in for a bomb.brIt is impossible to understand the guy, it sounds like he is talking with food in his mouth, and man was that movie corny. It was the first movie done without any heart. It was incredibly corny and if I could give it a lower rating then one star I would. If this is the only movie in the series that you have seen don't let it stop you from seeing the first one.
Action Packed! July 4, 2004 ini (Brighton, MI USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Crow comes back to life and starts killing people. So much fun, go see it!
Great Sequel!!! July 4, 2004 ini (Brighton, MI USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This movie is the best sequel ever. It has everything a movie needs in order to be perfect. Humor, lots of acton, and great costumes, including a sweet plot make this movie a movie that is worth seeing over and over again. Great!
Action packed! July 4, 2004 ini (Brighton, MI USA) I saw this movie and it is so good and much, much better than the irst one. It has action, a great plot, and very believable costumes. A must see!
the good, the not-so-good.... and the horribly mangled April 4, 2004 M. Kiefer (my computer chair) The story line is wonderful, just like the first(james o'barr is great at that), but the acting leaves something to be desired. Whoever plays Judah (richard something, i think) has no emotion, and seems to be just reciting memorized lines. The bad-guys aren't as frantic in city of angels as they are in the original(yes, i AM comparing, get over it. you must understand that after seeing how great the wonderful the original was, i had high expectations for city of angels), and ashe seemed more interested in his relationship with sarah than his revenge, although vincent perez was good. she says he goes back when he's finished, and he replies, what if i don't want to go back? Sarah is back from the original, as a tattoo artist, and somehow her hair color AND texture have changed. In the original crow, Brandon Lee sort of played out his murder, and I was expecting that from this movie, instead of just screaming. There are a few good shots of ashe's face, but i still wonder about the appearing-disappearing black lipstick. I didn't like how the crow symbol magically appeared, where-as Eric Draven created the brand himself. there are a few great quotes here, such as Ashe saying, Do you want me.. baby?, then there are the horrible quotes, such as Do you know how to die? and You are going to die now. And I kept waiting for the distillers song city of angels to play right after Sarah said, they say this is the city of angels, but all around me is death. I can't help but wonder if Brody used that to write: they say/this is the city/the city of angels/all i see is dead wings. (The Distillers, Sing Sing Death House) But it was a pretty good movie, the kind you rent ever once in a while or catch it when it's on tv, not the kind you buy.
