Doctor Who expensive on Amazon.ca!!! November 8, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Hey guys!
This is an amazing boxset! Another award winning season for the Who gang. Best episodes being the "Family of Blood" two parter and the chilling "Blink" episode.
I'm going to get it. But not from Amazon.ca! I'm going to Amazon.com. They have it for only $64.99 American....which if you do your conversion, makes it around $62.99 Canadian (current dollar at 1.06 ) Now my question is why Amazon.ca had this movie available for pre order at $88.99 Canadian and now suddenly we find it at the price it is at now!! Somebody's trying to rip us Canadians off! :)
A good 3rd series but for the ending and the price comparison... September 22, 2007 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
A pretty good 3rd series of the revival of Doctor Who. This series goes from strength to strength, before falling a bit flat at it's conclusion in the final episode because of the deus ex machina ending.
Tennant in two seasons has firmly imprinted himself upon the role and in the years to come, will likely be THE Doctor for a whole generation of fans, just like Tom Baker was to those of us who grew up watching the Classic series.
Highlights of the season would be the stories Gridlock, 42, the Human Nature 2-parter and Blink (a Doctor-lite episode that is a full 5/5 stars regardless).
But, one big problem and that's the price comparison... with the Canadian dollar on par (or higher) vs the US greenback, amazon.ca needs to explain to it's customers why this can be bought significantly cheaper off of it's .com site.
Buying this along with Time-Flight and Arc of Infinity, both released on the same date, from amazon.com instead of amazon.ca will save Candadians over $30, even after paying for shipping.
