Not the book... May 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
First let me say that I loved Stephen King's book The Stand. It is the only book of his that I have ever read and it blew me away. It was well written, great charater development, compelling story and amazing imagery.
Can't say the same thing about the movie. I konw it was done in the 90's but the music is cheezy, the acting is poor (except for a few people i.e. Gary Sinese, Rob Lowe, guy who played Larry is convincing), and the dialogue is horrible (e.g. Frannie's dad dies in one scene, she is laughing with Harold in the next scene listening to 80's rock.)
I hope Stephen King makes this into a real movie, with good actors and good plot development. If you can rent this movie please do...
The Stand Rocks October 17, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ive seen the stand over 5 times now and it never gets old. I lost my stand DVD a year ago and I had to get this combo of DVD's.
I will most likley watch the stand 5 more times and I cant wait to see The Langoliers and Golden Years.
