good music, cover from hell July 20, 2004
ok, here's the deal: the passengerz club mix presented here is the full length version, unlike the one found on the import copies that was sloppily edited. i knew it was edited even before i knew there was a full version because the one on the import faded out too fast in the end and faded out on one speaker before the other. UK singles are so screwed up now. They will sacrifice the integrity of a remix by editing just to make the tracks fit onto their stupid 20 minute cd rule. The U.S. has been getting the better end of single releases for the American Life project so forget the imports. Secondly, the Ralphi house vocal mix is ALSO here in it's full version, although the edit on the import wasn't as badly done as the passengerz one.brok, on to the mixes. all of them are good, but the highlights are the blow up mix and craig j's mix! the blow up mix is so cool and craig j's mix caught me by surprise. Madonna has never had a remix like this before. it has elements in it that remind me of music from the 70's. it's very beautiful. The first 4 mixes run well, but the last 3 didn't really impress me as much. They aren't bad, they;re just typical club mixes which kind of get boring after a while. I'm glad the Ralphi big room vox and big room dub sound different to each other. it used to be that a dub version sounded like it's respected remix except with less vocals. Pete's Nothing Fails mix is not as interesting as his house mix was.brnow for the artwork. Oh LAWD, what was Kevin Regan thinking?! I am a graphic design student and even I know that this design is WEAK. I, for one, CAN appreciate the idea of having a cover without a picture of the artist, but come on! this is just lousy. I can't believe this is the same KEvin Regan that designed the beautiful covers for the Ray of Light and Music projects. Did he totally lose his sense of design?! The most blatant design error here is the font. Unless done right, letters should almost never be stacked on top of each other vertically like that. It makes readability difficult. The font used is boring as well. Even the font used on the Norhing Really MAtters single was simple, but it worked beautifully, unlike here, which it doesn't. Anyway, I can go on and on about the lousy packaging but i'll just shut up. This is a case where it's really about the music only

I love this single, it's always been my favorite from the album. Can't wait to go see her, she is going to be amazing. My favorite track on the single is the Blow-Up mix with the new modern rock guitars and a great melody. I never heard a great production like this. The other remixes are ok, it's nothing that i never heard before. I'm not thrilled by the art work cover, could have been better than that for an amazing icon like her.

or is Nothing Fails, well it's an excellent remix, but if i wanted more mixes from NF i just have the NF maxi cd. Mother and father has some mixes has i heard on a Bootleg that was a better choice to us , the M fans.brThe only bad thing here is THE ARTWORK it really, really sucksbra new madonna picture could've work better. and the bonus of the perfume inside it's ok , so it seems like the flowers on the cd have their own scent.brmy fav is the Ralphi Rosario big room mix check that 1brthe video had to be included here as an ehhanced portion here..brI CANT WAIT TO SEE HER ON THE MIAMI CONCERT ON AUG 1!!!!!!pPSbrSKQUINTO I WANT TO CHAT WITH YOU, HOW CAN WE MEET?????brSEE YA

Ok, another American Life release single, the video is not that bad but not at Madonna's height. Madonna's videos has always been vanguard, innovative and had the word timeless all over the place, but this video it's just average. Now the song has strong message and the original beat are just ok, sad that a song from Madonna has become just that ok, not really grosse or really good, or shocking, Madonna's tracks are now comapre somehow to Whitney's that it's sad, I wonder how Madonna it's going to pick up after this flop. In no way compare to the Erotica's judge by the public, this albums wasn't judge, wasn't looked, wasn't noticed, worse was indifrent to the people and radio how sad.
