Amazon.co.uk Review The case for the Blu-ray high definition format is considerably, and immediately, strengthened by the appearance of one of cinema's most lucrative franchises of recent times. Each of the Spider-man films have amassed extraordinary sums of money, and they're gathered here together in this glorious high-definition set. Ironically for a trilogy, it's the second film that's the strongest, although let's not jump ahead. The first Spider-man, for instance, introduces us to Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), and covers the genesis of the infamous superhero. Set against Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, it's a deft, impressive and entertaining blockbuster, albeit one that takes a little longer than you'd like to get motoring. Spider-man 2 is the business, though. This is the one with Alfred Molina's stunning Doctor Octopus, although he has to share the screen with the title character contending with his dual life, and the effect on his relationship with Mary-Jane (Kirsten Dunst). It could have gone wrong, but it's so tightly put together that it's one of the very best blockbusters of recent times. Spider-man 3, inevitably, can't quite match the standard set, but you can't fault it for ambitious. Mixing in Topher Grace as Venom, Thomas Haden Church as Sandman and James Franco as the new Green Goblin, it's a lot to fit into one film, and that's what bogs things down. However, when it does hit its stride, Spider-man 3 is a rip-roaring ride in its own right. Exclusive to the Blu-ray format in high definition, this is undoubtedly the cinematic purist's best way to enjoy the Spider-man films at home. And backed up by some incisive extra features, this is a boxset that not only demos the strengths of high definition home entertainment, it's also got three highly entertaining films at the core of it. --Jon Foster

Best price around..... August 29, 2008 This has got to be the best priced Blu-Ray title by far for 25 you get all 3 Spider-Man films all on blu-ray, one title alone is around 20/25 nowadays, my local high street store has the Spider-Man Trilogy and they are selling it for 50?.
First of all I would like to assure all the PS3 owners that Spider-Man 2 does work on a PS3, I was a little nervous in getting the boxset after reading most prople are having problems in playing Spider-Man 2 on there PS3's as someone has mentioned that Sony have fixed the problem, if you haven't updated your PS3 then I recommend you do so.
The latest update for your PS3 is v2.42 and can be manually downloaded at http://uk.playstation.com/ps3 or via your PS3. When my boxset arrived Spider-Man 2 was the first disc I tried, and yep it played straight away.
The quality and the sound of the film is just out of this world, and at 25 you just can't beat it.
Thanx Amazon great product and fast delivery ;-)

Perfect Product July 8, 2008 At first when i read the reviews and noticed that some people were having problems playing Spider-man 2 on their PS3's i was abit worried about the product i had ordered as this would be the way i would be playing the films. When it arrived 2 days after order the first thing i done was try spider-man 2 and it worked first time without having to turn the system off or anything. The rest of the product is also brilliant and at that price is a must have for anyones blu-ray collection. Great set of films just hope they dont bring anymore out which will then ruin my box set but i think they will.
Spiderman 2 compatability July 3, 2008 I own PS3 60gb from release date, Exellent machine blah, blah, but have it connected to my broadband through a wired router (safer more consistent download speeds & only cost 18 including 5 meters of cable). So when I boot up the console automaticly tells me if there are any new software updates. I think this is the key to compatability issues with the PS3. I have not have had any problems loading games/movies including spiderman 2 on Blu-ray.
PS3 OWNERS DO NOT FEAR!!! June 26, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Guys to those who are having issues with spiderman2 on your ps3 please follow these instructions. Spiderman 2 will not work initially. but leave the disc in the ps3 and manually reboot it by holding down the PS3 reset button. this will permanently fix the problem..
Hope this helps...
