3 out of 5 stars not a bad effort   October 13, 2008
Ms. F. I. Macdonald (uk)
i watch so many films now (normally about three a day) that finding a good film in the bunch is pretty hard. I liked this film, it was humourous and well cleverly scripted and indeed it was something diffeent to watch of an evening. Danny Dyer is a good actor and usually chooses decent roles, and he went well with this one. However there was something lacking in this film. I was forever waiting for the 'best bit' to happen, but it never did. The film is fine, but not one that will stick in my mind.

4 out of 5 stars Something personal?   November 22, 2007

These wildly differing reviews are a bit of a mystery. Obviously most people only post reviews etc when they have strong reactions either way, good and bad but all this hatred here in some of these reviews is very curious. I've seen this film and thought it was very funny and well directed if rather chaotic and deliberately 'strange'. I also found it deeply inoffensive and harmless. How a film like this can generate such hatred is very suspicious. Some people seem to have something against this movie and want to slag it off at any opportunity. My only addendum would be; don't believe a word of it. This film ain't The Lavender Hill Mob but I laughed out loud many times which is more than I did when watching Hot Fuzz!

Reading some of these other reviews you do wonder about/despair of some peoples sense of humour. Incidentally, this movie is an attack on just such humourless wa*kers. See it for yourself and decide. A little cracker.

Well, just simply very, very funny. I've never seen anything like this before. If it had been written by Ricky Gervais I reckon these people would all have been falling over themselves to say how much they loved it. Top stuff.
