Hmmmmmm...... January 1, 2009 Brian Murray (Belfast) I bought these after my Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 THX sadly went into meltdown after many years of awesome service. These in no way compare with the CS's but for the price they are very good. You will not get seismic bass from the sub and infact i find the bass from it murky with no punch but when kept to a lower level its ok. However, the sats give wonderful clarity and, strangley for a pc speaker, very good imaging (when placed properly otherwise they can be overbearing)!A seperate control for the sats/sub and general volume control would be a great boost to this package as having to go below the desk to press the sub volume control to the the system off is a bit of a nuissance. br /Basically,if you're moving from a standard desktop kind of speaker these will blow you away and as i've said before, for the price they're good....for me however...I'll be passing them on and saving up for another set of CS's....
Outstanding speakers December 28, 2008 M. Phipps (Surrey, England) I have had the Soundsticks hooked up to an iMac for a couple of months now - a surprise gift from my wife. Had seen them in stores before, so I knew they looked good, but had never heard them. Initial impression out the box is that build quality is very good, and it takes minutes to connect them up. After 2 months, I remain very impressed with the sound quality, bearing in mind the sub 100 cost. Great articulation in the sound - very clear with good bass. All in all, very impressive sound, look fantastic, great value for money and highly recommended.
Sweeeet ! December 22, 2008 I wait for that kind of sound long time. When Im watching a movie i feel like in the cinema.
Fantastic!!!! December 11, 2008 M. Mirza (London, United Kingdom) waited anxiously for this equipment as it was recommended by a friend and was given to me as a gift from my girl friend. Installed it and it was exactly the way i wanted it to be. br / I got a bit disappointed as i was expecting some really decent lighting effects from the cryastal doom more like a mini-disco. br /Well Sound quality is awesome as in comparison with JBL creature which I had for a while but this equipment is really worth spending 100 quids. br / I think some more effort by design engineer would had made a big difference. Anywayz full recommendation from my side for those are really into style and quality. br /Cheers!!!!!!
Great in most ways but not the most important one November 6, 2008 Mr. R. W. Tracey (London, England) Ok. I've just purchased a new PC with a top of the range Creative labs sound card, the next order of business was a good pair of PC speakers. Having read the rave reviews on this site others, I decided to go for the Soundsticks II. Well, the build quality is excellent, both the satellites the bass unit have a really solid, quality feel about them it looks great too. Setup is easy, just take a moment to examine the connections, they look a bit like an S-Video connection and if you're not careful it is possible to break the small pins inside. The only drawback is the sound quality. Perhaps I'm being over critical as I normally listen to music with Shure E5C headphones but still, in my humble opinion, these speakers just don't sound that good with music. You should take some time to play around with the positioning of the sat's, this did help to some extent. Games are a different matter, the sub is great with shoot-em' up's and everything else I've tried so far. Finally I would say, if you frequently listen to music through your PC you want excellent sound quality, don't go for these. They are excellent on gaming, build quality looks.
