Unbelievable October 6, 2008 Wow, plugged this in and had to turn down the volume and contrast from the previous settings. Well worth it!
Thor Rules September 24, 2008 I've had these cables for a while now. I bought them to Connect my (then)new LCD TV to a DVD and Home Cinema system. That was before I went HD.
The picture quality is excellent and is actually quite close to HDMI using digital TV signals such as Freeview. Therefore, they are a good investment. I still use mine for connecting non HDMI equipment.
I only have two criticisms. The cables are very thick and inflexible so they need a bit of space. The scart is not a tight fit so can work loose if disturbed. Otherwise an excellent purchase.
No better than the bog standard cables September 7, 2008 I bought this to connect my Freeview box (signal through aerial) to my new LCD Sony KDL32w4000 HD TV. Obviously I wasn't expecting HD quality, but given the boasts made by the manufacturer I was expecting an improvement on my old Scart, which was given to me years ago free by NTL.
There was no improvement at all.
This isn't too pricey a cable, so you might think it's worth a shot if your reception is very bad. It also looks nice, so if that's important this is a decent option. But don't expect too much if you're hoping it will do better than an existing old cable.
A bit bulky August 20, 2008 These leads are very good quality but have a couple of bad points. Firstly, because the cable comes straight out of the back of the plug, you need at least 11cm clearance at the back of your equipment. Secondly, the plugs are quite bulky and thick. This caused a slight problem for me when I used two plugs side by side in the two scart sockets on the back of my TV. Both plugs would not go in perfectly straight because they were right up against each other, although the connections still seem to be ok.
No longer a sceptic! August 15, 2008 I confess I was sceptical about the claims made for relatively expensive cables like this, but having been irritated by "ghosting" when I was watching Sky on my new LCD TV I finally gave in and bought two to connect the Sky box and DVD player to replace the bog standard cables I was using. No regrets whatsoever! Not only has the ghosting problem vanished, the picture has noticably more depth, vibrancy and definition. I was seriously impressed by the difference that they have made.
