Not hardwearing July 8, 2008 I would advise not buying these earphones simply because they don't last. Mine didn't anyway. I've had them a couple of months and I haven't put any great stresses on them - ie. I've used them 'normally' for listening to an mp3 player - and the lead has now developed a faulty connection which means the sound is intermittent.
The sound is very good and they're very cheap so I could theoretically just buy a new pair every couple of months, but I'm just not keen on shoddy manufacturing and will I think stick to Sonys in the future.
Trains, Planes and Formula 1 July 7, 2008 I bought a set of these some time ago and have been very impressed with them. I've used them on aeroplanes, in trains and yesterday at the British Formula 1 Grand Prix. At the Grand Prix they were fantastic - I've tried many different ear and head phones at the Grand Prix over the years but this was the first time I heard the entire radio commentary over the noise of the cars. If mine died, I'd buy the same again without hesitation.
Good value July 3, 2008 Yes, these are excellent earphones. They deliver good quality sound and substantially reduce outside noise. The rubber inserts which fit over the ear pieces (3 pairs of different sizes) are comfy enough to wear for several hours and are easy to clean. They're so good at eliminating outside noise that you need to keep your wits about you when wearing them in the street. Better than the `noise cancelling' phones which Sony and others offer and which come at a hefty price. They're certainly good for listening to relaxation and ambient music.
The only minor point is that, while the cord at 120 cm is a good length for portable devices, it's not quite long enough for static kit - my pc sits close to the floor and the cord is a bit too short to accommodate sitting at the keyboard. On the plus side, the cord is sturdy, rubberized and stays flexible, so seems less likely to crack than plastic types.
Overall, these are excellent value for money and are superior to many which cost substantially more.
Over the moon June 26, 2008 I recently bought my first IPOD, and the reviews made several comments about the poor quality earphones that came with it, so I ordered some of the Creative Labs earphones (extremely cheaply, I must say) at the same time. My IPOD came first, and I not only found the earphones let a lot of background noise in, but they were extremely uncomfortable.
My Creative Labs earphones came the next day. WHAT a difference! They had plenty of spare covers and fit easily into my ears. All of the outside noise was blocked out (I road tested them on a busy main road - not literally on the road, I stuck to the pavement) and all I could hear was pure, unadulterated music. They were totally painless to remove and insert, and I am just over the moon with them as they have doubled my listening pleasure.
GREATTT STUFF!! June 25, 2008 im buying my 3rd pair today, the first pair broke, but i think it was because i rolled over one of the wires repeated with my desk chair by mistake and them them the headphones in my pocket with choclate that melted and went all over them !! :(
the second pair i lost poo!!
but ive had soo much pleasure and joy from this pair i cant live without them and had to purchese them immendiently :P
only ever issues i had was hearing a slight stactic noise in the background when quite music was playing but i think this is a common complaint from my sony model w810i phone, another thing is when a song ends some times you near a loud "snap" as the power dies down. not to sure what that was a about but not enough to diminish the great value this product is. if you are looking for cheap headphones then this baby is it, dont even bother looking at anything else and possibly be disappointed or pay more no gain, these are the ones for you!! :D
