Great mp3 player, but music on the SD card is seperate from the music on the built in memory - cant use playlist for SD files October 11, 2008 P. Naughton (Ireland) The player is great, no fault there. Im happy with my 8GB version, but very dissappointed that music and image on the SD card (when installed) don't appear in the players music or image library. Reason; The built-in memory is in a library format whilst the SD card is a FAT file format. The 'very nice' music and file menu of the player does not see the SD card content, you must browse the SD card filesystem seperatly to find the files you wish to use, and browsing is not like finding an album, or playing a playlist. So, you can play music and view images off the SD card, but its not like using an mp3 players library as the typical mp3 player features apply only to the content of the build in memory, not to the SD cards file system. Zen for pod cats October 10, 2008 Mr. Keith Whittle (Hull UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Creative ZEN 4GB MP3 Player I bought this player to use for podcasts to make my long car journeys more tolerable. To my joy it is real easy to use for those less techy, the BBC radio web site has a podcast section and it has a button called 'zen' and one click and it down loads that pod cast to your MP3 player. The software for pod casts that comes with the zen is great, it is easy to load up on your computer, , it alows you to pick loads of podcasts, checks for updates and then it will synchronise the down loaded podcasts with your Zen. It does the same with all your music too. Top tip, you can buy a cheap plug in (on amazon) that connects to your Zen and sends out a radio signal which is picked up by your car radio or any other radio near it, lovely clear screen, great in the gym too.
Creative Zen 4B September 23, 2008 P. Layton (Bristol, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought Creative after getting cheesed off having to install the dreadful iTunes with my ipod all the time. Creative make cheap electronics and it feels a bit plasticky, but it does its job just fine. Pros: * Good memory capacity; * SD card expansion; * drag and drop or use with Windows Media Player seamlessly (unlike iTunes - a big plus if you ask me!!!); * glossy design with a decent size screen Cons: * Unintuitive interface, e.g. pressing the central button doesn't play song - the play button is a small one on the side, almost an afterthought, whch seems strange given it's the raison d'etre of the device; * FM radio doesn't work AT ALL! Don't buy this unit with the radio in mind, it's non-existent; * Volume is on the quiet side
