swa-3000 vs swa-4000 November 6, 2009 elgee (North London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a samsung surround sound system and was using the swa-3000 until a few weeks ago, when there was a power failure (and probably a surge / spike) and the unit stopped working. 2 years over the 1 yr guarantee, and faced with ridiculous quotes to repair it, I decided to upgrade to the swa-4000. Didnt hurt as much as the £100 I originally paid, but still hurt. Also invested in a surge protector which I would recommend!!
br /
br /So, because of all the improvements in the new unit, I felt compelled to write a review. The main improvement is sound quality and less interference. When the system was on, it often reduced the speed of my wireless pc upstairs and when I was using high bandwidth via the router (same room as amp) - there was a definite drop in sound quality on some tv channels that are broadcast on a lower quality. I even changed the wifi broadcast channel on my router/wifi devices to reduce the interference, but I think it broadcasts mid-range - maybe ch 8, but i found channel 11 works best if you have a swa-3000). The 4000 runs at 5.8ghz instead of 2.4, which eliminated this issue (until i start using 5.8 wifi equipment).
br /
br /The other improvement is setup, didnt have to sync or configure anything, literally plugged in it and job done. old unit was a serious hassle. It may also be interesting to know that i was told by the samsung support line, that it is compatible with all samsung sound systems that have a tx card slot (tx card included).
br /
br /I have also seen some reviews where people say the fan (non-existent on the 3000) can get noisy. As i havent been using it for that long, i cant really comment.
br /
br /5 stars because of all the improvements, sleeker design and slightly cheaper than the older model.

samsung wireless rear speaker unit November 4, 2009 T. L. France (lincs. uk) I have added this unit to my samsung 5.1 cinema system, It saves running wires to the back of the room from the main dvd player,it looks good and works well. The rear speakers still have to be wired to the wireless unit.
No wires trailing across the room September 16, 2009 Mr. Richard Veitch (Hampshire, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The installation was exceptionally easy and, because there are no wires to run from the Main Unit to the Rear Speaker Unit, my wife doesn't raise any objection.

br /The unit works really well and integrates seamlessly into the complete system.

br /Sounds good too.
value for money August 2, 2009 M. Prior (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the unit so I didn't have to have wires trailing round the room. It's very quiet, not bulky and having got its signal has not failed anytime it's turned on. Brilliant device well worth the money.
Excellent but take care during set up July 23, 2009 Mr. Paul Beckham (Northants) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this unit to augment my Samsung home theatre set up.
br /Unit works well although did take some setting up as supplied directions
br /were innacurate. After the wireless card is installed Samsung say that a
br /steady blue indicator light means unit has connected, not the case.
br /Checked and double checked connections e.t.c. Eventually found by
br /imputting code 0.1.3.5. into main unit at dvd at stop position and
br /resetting SWA4000 did the trick. This info is in the instructions however
br /having the steady blue light throws a red herring.
br /Overall however good unit but does have to be possitioned within line of
br /sight to an extent.
