I found these sounded great. I own some of Sennheiser's most expensive over-the-ear models, and these compare pretty well. Especially for 17
I bought a pair of the Etymotic ER6s earlier, but wasn't happy with these (and they were 70 when introduced!). It boils down to how well these kind of 'phones fit your ears, I think. These fit better, and thus the bass is far clearer and deeper. Your experience may vary!
I think it is crazy that the Eco version of these cost more than the standard packaging (or they did when I bought). Also, replacement earpieces are stupidly priced, but that isn't specific to this model.
Those gripes aside, these are great. Fantastic on a flight!
Solution for sore ears. June 3, 2008
I have purchased three pairs of these earphones at over the last year and I am again ordering another pair.
Ah! you say "they must be awful and break all the time". Not so, every time I have purchase a pair they have been nabbed by each of my children and my husband because they were so impressed.
I have had one pair expire but I think that was due to the onslaught of teenagers constant use and lack of care.
I find it difficult to use the Apple bud type as they hurt my ears so much, I can't use my itouch. These have been the answer to my prayers. You do have to fit them properly, as mention many time by other in these reviews.
So don't hesitate in purchasing this item, you won't be sorry.

I brought these for my wife as she would not let me buy her a pair of Bose Triport saying they were too much money.
She has eaten her words...... can I have Bose she says these are rubbish.
My first bose were 50 from ebay but now you can get them somehow on Amazon for 15 how I dont know but.... they are much better and a lot more money from Bose but you can tell the difference. So Ive replaced them and binned these.

I purchased a couple of pairs for around 4 quid.
They are a comfortable in-ear fit. Not much bass, but audible.
No noise leakage to speak of, to the best of my knowledge.
They are nothing on my Sony Noise Canceling in-ear 'phones, but they're 10% of the price.
Great general purpose headphones, but look at the price - they are not for 'serious' music listening. My point of view is that they were cheap, they block out other sounds reasonably well, and they're okay for sound.
