5 out of 5 stars No problems with ours?????   July 8, 2008
I bought this for my partner for Christmas to match our fab new Samsung 40" LCD TV with all that HD jazz (now thats a wicked piece of kit). Its been great for us. We only really watch original DVDs so can't comment on the DVD-r use and we haven't yet found the need to make it multi-region (didn't even know it could be changed to multi). I bought it because it looked good/slim & has the HDMI upscaling both of which do as they should beautifully. Casino Royale and the like are of an amazing quality, remote works fine, looks good!! I would recommend it.

1 out of 5 stars Poor customer service - faulty product,   June 20, 2008
I ordered this in eary May, after reading the many reviews and not wanting to go the full BuRay route at present.

Once received the player had a fault with the LED display panel being garbled and displaying corrupted charcatres. Also , the player hung frequently requiring unplugging as the power off wouldnt wotk in this case..

Contacted Pixmania on 18th may and got no response. Contacted again today and told it was outside of their 30 day policy..hmm

Very disatisfied. I have been an Amazon customer for many years, and never had a complaint before now.

I would not buy through Pixmania again...

4 out of 5 stars Euro Plug!!!   May 13, 2008
Similar to other reviews here, I was also sent an European model and have had to shell out on a mains adapter. Other than that it is a fantastic item, Just do not buy it from Pixmania.

2 out of 5 stars ***DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM PIXMANIA***   May 9, 2008

I have had the same experience as others below from Pixmania and was delivered a french DVD player with french instructions. It works OK but is not what I wanted or ordered and the hassle and cost of returning it for a 50 player is not worth it. I phoned them up today to complain as their website does not state it is a european model and their response was 'we are operating well within the law as we give you a UK adaptor and you can download english instructions off our website'. So much for customer service and not misleading people! Next time I will go to a high street store or buy from Amazon UK direct.

2 out of 5 stars Initially disapointed   May 3, 2008

It was a pain that this arrived later than the other 3 items I ordered (Sony TV & HDMI leads), but guess expected as third party supplier.
When DVD did arrive it came with a Euro plug - as such I had to spend my time finding a plug converter locally (Which is not easy in a small town).
Also the TV cannot automatically see the DVD player via HDMI connection, I have to select it via AV#. I could not check the instruction book as this is in french. I know it will work (I hope in the end) but there should not be this up front hassle, I could of brought it from a retail outlet for 59. Iguess I should be talking about the picture that does seem ok, but the hassle has taken off the gloss of the purchase. I am awaiting Pixmania's reply.
