5 out of 5 stars not just a pretty face   August 4, 2008

As a newby to lcd tv's and the fact I was renovating my bedroom I wanted to make the jump from my 20 inch sony tube tv which was perfectly fine but in order to save vital space and satasfy my viewing needs I went on the hunt for a shiny new fancy flatscreen set to parade on the wall(it's all the rage!)but before buying online I went round the usual high st stores-currys,comet etc to make sure in by having a look and comparing prices as i already had an idea I wanted this one from looking a pictures in buyers guides etc and yes call me vain but I went for this one purely on the looks and believe me it looks even sexier in person so went to read a few reviews etc and was satasfyed by the mainly positive feedback so I went and ordered it online at comet (forgive me amazon)then when I unpacked it WOW it was so easy to set up with its smart wizard type program you just follow a few prompts and your away.once its all tuned in you have to fiddle with the picture settings to get the best possible picture I find that if you have it's backlight function at 9 or 10 it works best the,now I live in an area that as yet can't pick up freeview but I have sky so that's not a big downer I bought this sort of tv for sky sports i.e.the footie, and for watching my ever growing dvd collection and yes the anologue picture is'nt great to be honest but do I really need to see eastenders and corrie in glorious hd,the viewing for dvds and sport is great the blacks are also good for a lcd I also like the fact the speakers are hidden inside that lip curve thingy at the bottom that was a reason I chose this over the sony bravia which I thought looked boring which as a previous sony lover left me dissapointed by what I saw to be lazy design unlike samsungs range sometimes I just sit there and admire it all lush there on the wall.overall then as a tv I can come home to after a day at work and watch football/dvds for couple of hours worth of relaxation etc it's just what I want and no it does'nt matter that a new range of full hd tvs are out as I love, sorry worship this tv did I mention that I liked it?

5 out of 5 stars virgin tv or sky picture   April 3, 2008
A. R. BETTS
I got my tv about 8 months ago my first one I had the remote control and the tv didnt responded to each other. My second tv Iam having problems with watching tv on my virgin + box I keep getting the digital lines goning down the screen. Ive turned them off in the settings but you still can see them. Ive got it connected by hdmi cable still getting the same issue.
Ive know connected it buy hd component and it is a perfect picture.

When I watch dvd's on my samsung hd dvd player it is fantastic. I would advised anyone who is thinking about getting this tv to get it. But I do advise you to get the samsung hd dvd player to.

After reading all of these's reveiws I was in 2 minds as to whether to purchase this Tv, but thankfully I did.
On deciding to speand the extra 8 for express delivery my tv arivvied ahead of schedule. After taking the Tv out of the box i was supprised to find how easy it was to set, although it did require, as expected, me to fine tune the picture, which was just as easy, this was due to the fact that the contrast comes set at 100%, far to high for the Tv, also I have found thtat this Tv needs a few minutes to warm up before you get the "perfect" picture. Another problem stated in these reveiws is that the tv is not responsive enough to the remote, this was easyily sorted with a third party remote. I can fault Amazon's delivery but have found it difficult to find out how you stand on the 12 month garentee that you would normally expect from a major retailer.

5 out of 5 stars Top Quality   March 27, 2008

Ordered and delivered with the minimum of fuss, next day for 8.99, excellent.
TV received at 8:45am, up and running by 9:00am.
Easy set-up, a couple of options to take and it was basically plug and play.
Nice easy options to navigate through the channels, for both digital and terrestrial. Can be set-up for bright rooms, standard rooms or dark (movie) type rooms.
I agree with some of the other reviewers in that the picture does take some getting used to, however this does not detract from the overall pleasure of viewing.
No issues with TV yet so cannot comment on the quality of the Samsung service department.
After a lot of searching this is the best I have found!
