great top brand lcd for the money June 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Advised relative to purchase this as I bought a toshiba 32" lcd tv last august, made in uk, great looks and picture with above average sound performance, new model av series is cheaper than mine was,now in glossy black finish (like samsung),but doesn't have PC input vga connector (rarely used anyway),top performance, costing little more than a supermarket cheapy, but miles better, buy one!. p.s no I don't work for Toshiba!
Pleasant surprise(s) June 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Firstly - Great service from Amazon (and the courier) I placed the order late one night (selecting free shipping) and by 9.30am two mornings later I had my TV.
The television:
This is not our primary TV (which is a Pioneer Plasma) and I had mixed feelings about ordering an LCD (not a fan). However, whilst its not up to the standard of the Pioneer...at one eighth of the the cost of the plasma this Toshiba is really very good. (just don't judge the picture until you turn off the awful Black Stretch function!)
Lightweight, attractive design - highly recommended at this price.

Does the job nicely May 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this off Amazon at 70 cheaper than most big electrical retailers. Delivery was smooth, it was relatively easy to set up and it works a treat. To be honest the picture quality is not always great depending on the channel but for most viewing it is fine and comparable with other similar tv's of the same size, including a panasonic. Needed to adjust the colour down a little as it was too garish on the default settings. The only grumble so far is that there does not seem to be an off switch so it has to be left on standby unless it goes off at the plug, which in these green days seems a bit of an oversight, maybe I just haven't found the button yet!. Overall, I'm delighted, and for the price its a steal.

Wow.
City Link's delivery guy was greeted by my beaming smile last week. Why? Because I couldn't believe that I was about to become the proud owner of an HDTV whose specs would otherwise cost upwards of 800! My purchase of 379 seems an absolute steal!
The acid test was my PS3. What an image. The screen was able to keep up with the bold colours of Devil May Cry 4 as well as the duller and brighter palette of Assassin's Creed. The tracking of movement was excellent too.
Next was Freeview. I used the auto install feature which took a few minutes and was pleasantly surprised with what I saw. I had seen standard definition imagery on other HDTVs but the upscaling technology in this screen really showed off what it could do. Upscaling of DVDs was good, not quite Blue-ray but who cares when it looks this good.
All in all, I'm one happy, loyal and satisfied Amazon customer.
5 stars?
Hell Yeah!
