Product Description This Geniatech USB Freeview receiver enables you to watch over 30 Freeview channels, listen to over 20 digital radio stations, record your favourite TV programmes on your hard drive with instant, time-shifting and schedule recording modes. It comes with a user friendly software, a portable TV antenna and remote control. All you need to do is to plug the device into a USB port of your computer, insert the CD and install the software by following the instructions. Your computer will start working as a portable high-definition TV and DVD recorder. It is compatible with the latest Windows Vista, comes with sleek and compact design and high quality finish. There may be difficulty to receive freeview TV signal by the included portable antenna in some areas where the signal is not sufficiently strong. This is due to that the freeview service (www.freeview.co.uk) in the UK is not fully operating yet. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program. A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required to watch freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

Works well with good signal June 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Felt I had to write a review for this product as it is just what I hoped for.
I connected it to my main aerial and I also have a signal booster so I can't comment on the included aerial. With this strong signal I picked up 69 channels (TV and video). Picture quality is good and switches channel quickly.
The included software (Total Media 3) is actually pretty good. Much better than I expected. I did have some problems with Windows media centre but downloading the latest driver sorted it out.
Overall, it is exactly what I wanted and at 12 you can't go wrong. Recommended.
This TV Tuner is pants!!! June 5, 2008 Firstly the CD that was supplied was faulty and I could not install the driver until i downloaded it from their website, I then attempted to tune in the channels over the next few days, obviously the aerial provided is not going to pick up any channels unless u live right next to a transmitter so i bought another one ( amplified indoor aerial from asda 15, my block of flats doesnt have an external aerial ) picked up a couple of channels but no picture. Then after trying a different aerial positions it just stopped picking up any channels... then i found out that u cant get interactive on these usb tuners anyways which is what i wanted for the tennis. I ended up buying a freeview box and hooked up the aerial and HOORAY all the channels with great reception... Not sure if the unit was faulty but it didnt work for me. Gonna try and return and get refund.
Very good value for the money. May 30, 2008 It was either this one or the Lupo model, also selling on Amazon. I opted for this one as I saw it advertised by a company that only sells tv sticks and they rated this stick as a really good product. I have to say that the picture you get from an external aerial is excellent though this may depend on how close you are to your local transmitter and the quality of your aerial. The DVB-T picks up 48 channels, 25 of them t.v., 13 radio. Arcsoft software looks good and works well. However, I cannot edit saved t.v. footage/films in Windows Movie Maker. I have e-mailed ArcSoft and am waiting for a reply on what might be the problem. Could just be the tick of a box in the software somewhere? The remote is very good, sturdy and wellbuilt, feels and looks good too. Overall I am pleased. Beats my analogue ATI All in Wonder hands down for picture quality. Gave it a 4 because of the problem with Movie Maker.
No problems April 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This works and installs perfectly on Vista. It works much better than my previous USB Freeview dongle and is cheap. Like with all USB freeview receivers, you'll probably need an aerial on the roof to get good reception.
A Dissapointing Product April 12, 2008 The software for this device installed perfectly on Windows Vista. But when attaching my outdoor aerial, it could only find 4 channels, yet other freeview boxes in the house connected to the same aerial find 40 or more. I checked all my connections and retuned the device again, only to get the same result. It is now in the bin and I will steer clear of Geniatech products in future.
