5 out of 5 stars Fab little player   July 10, 2008
Like many reviewers, I bought this player for my holiday, mainly on the strengths of price and performance, and having used it (and continue to use it) I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone.
First the minus: the car headrest case that it's supposed to sit in is frankly rubbish.
However...the battery life is absolutely superb and I've never had it run out before the end of a film. It comes with a car charger as well so is perfect for long car journeys. It played all the regions I tried it with (UK, US and Aus) in terms of DVD, plus after ripping loads of CD's to MP3 format and then writing them to DVD, it played those too! Hours of music for the trip.
A great bonus is the SD/MMC/MS slot on the front so after taking loads of photos you can then pop the memory card from your digital camera into this little unit and watch them - and the 7" screen is far better than one would expect given its small size.
I thought the idea of a remote for a player this small was a bit silly - but ended up using it anyway despite the fact the it's not the easiest to navigate, and has no volume control.
Can't fault the price or the actual product itself: great buy.

I wouldn't normally write a review but we were so pleased with this I felt I should. Bought this for our daughter for xmas from Allcam through Amazon, having read many of the reviews. Delivery was very prompt, and the quality of the player is good; it's just what we were looking for. Our daughter loves it - would recommend theis player without a doubt.

1 out of 5 stars wouldn't risk another too much hassle   April 1, 2006

Slow to arrive but looked great when it got to us. However the screen did not work so it went straight back to the supplier! We also bought the TV tuner but could not test it out. I was doubtful about it because it looked and felt cheap/poor quality. It was a time consuming hassle to return the product

This dinky lightweight portable dvd player does everything it says on the box and does it well. The sound quality from the in built speakers is good compared to other portables I looked at and with head phones or external speakers its great. The quality of the picture is very good.I did lots of research before purchasing this item and am pleased that I chose this one despite a slight worry that I had not heard of Shinco. If you are going to buy a portable dvd player I recommend this one.

We ordered this DVD player just before going on holiday and it has been great. The unit is relativley small and lightweight and the battery lasts well. It's played R1 and R2 DVD's with no problem and audio CD's. The sound quality from the speakers isn't brilliant, but with headphones it's fine. Just by coincidence I bought a Harman JBL on Tour Portable Music Box Speaker System for my MP3 player, and it works brilliantly with this DVD player to produce really good quality sound.

I would definately reccomend this DVD player.
